The PRELUDE premier introduces 18-year-old Floridian rapper Kodak Black. A son of Haitian immigrants and product of the unrestricted streets in and around Pompano Beach’s Golden Acres Housing projects, Kodak is no stranger to crime or prison. His only saving grace seems to be his rugged charisma and immense rap talent.
Hundreds of protesters blocked major Chicago intersections Tuesday and plan to continue demonstrations in the next several days following the release of a dashcam video showing police shoot Laquan McDonald, a 17-year-old African-American boy, 16 times in 2014. Five people were arrested in the protests, including a well-known poet and Black Youth Project organizer Malcolm London. One further action expected is a boycott on Black Friday at a well-known shopping strip called Magnificent Mile.
