Reports indicate the father of Jake England, the 19-year-old Tulsa shooter accused of killing innocent victims in a shooting rampage, was killed by a Black man who claimed self-defense.
Jake England and Alvin Watts, the two men accused of terrorizing Tulsa in a shooting rampage that left three Black men dead and two others wounded, have plead not guilty to the crimes.
Prosecutors said Friday that 19-year-old Jake England and his roommate, 33-year-old Alvin Watts, are charged with first-degree murder, shooting with intent to kill and malicious harassment — the equivalent of a hate crime under state law.
Jake England and Alvin Watts were charged with murder on Monday after a shooting spree in Tulsa, Oklahoma that targeted Blacks.
As the Tulsa shooting is suspected of being a hate crime, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) recently recorded their highest number of hate groups.
Police say a shooting spree that spread fear in Tulsa's Black community and left three people dead may have been partly motivated by an Oklahoma man's desire to avenge his father's shooting by a Black man.
