Idris and Seun, the stars of the Sundance Award-winning film American Promise, were enrolled into the prestigious Dalton School on the Upper East Side of Manhattan when they were just five years old. Their journey, which takes place over 12 years, was documented by filmmakers Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson, who are the parents of Idris.
The film documents the struggles of the boys and their families along with issues including stereotypes and identity issues.
American Promise will hit theaters in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., this fall.
