After a gang of mixtapes and a lot of hype, J. Cole was a part of the XXL Freshmen class. In 2011, Roc Nation's golden child released his debut, Cole World: A Sideline Story. His album was so successful that it debuted at number one and got him nominated the Best New Artist Grammy Award.
