When My Homies Call: Crew Love

Don't miss Curren$y tonight on 106 & Park!

Center Edge Territory - This improbable trio of indie heroes—Mos Def, Jay Electronica and Curren$y—came together while chilling and recording at Damon Dash's now defunct New York recording studio and gallery, DD172. They've supposedly recorded six songs together, including the bangerific "The Day" off Curren$y's Pilot Talk, and an album was in talks. But considering how hard it is to make Jay Elec and Mos even show their faces in public, we'd rather wait for the devil to strap on skis.(Photos: Terrence Jennings/PictureGroup; Getty Images)

Odd Coupling - This is an interesting cast of characters, to say the least. Pop star Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson pose with victorious boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. after he defeated Miguel Cotto by unanimous decision in their WBA super welterweight title fight. The event was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. (Photo: Al Bello/Getty Images)

The Money Team - As far as we could tell a few months ago, the Money Team was just three friends (Floyd Mayweather Jr., 50 Cent and Ray J) who roll around to celebrity events, take pictures, get in trouble and give each other expensive gifts. But imagine an album from these smack-talking rabblerousers plus sweet-faced Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne, plus you know Floyd got bars. It'd probably be a train wreck, but we'd all be rubber-necking.(Photo: Al Bello/Getty Images)

When My Homies Call: Crew Albums We'd Like to See - Sometimes it seems hard enough for one person to get an album out—albums from crews are even more rare and worthy of attention. So you can imagine our excitement when rumors that Nas, Common and Q-Tip were forming a supergroup emerged. Reportedly named The Standard, the crew would bring together three of hip-hop's most influential and long-lasting vets. Q-Tip and Nas are said to be caught up in recording their new solo albums for now, but we can dream, can't we? Besides, The Standard isn't the only posse we'd love to get an LP from. Click on for more crew albums we'd love to see come to fruition (though we aren't holding our breath for some of them).(Photos; Terrence Jennings/Picturegroup; Roger Kisby/Getty Images; Christopher Polk/Getty Images)

G.O.O.D. Music - Kanye West tweeted last October that a G.O.O.D. Music album would be dropping next spring, and by all accounts it's still on track. With an amazingly deep roster that includes West, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, CyHi Da Prynce, Mos Def, Common, Mr. Hudson, Pusha T and John Legend, the album could be epically dope. (Photo: Daniel Boczarski/Getty Images for VEVO)

Roc Nation - With the three Js at the helm (Jay-Z, J. Cole and Jay Electronica), a Roc Nation compilation could be unforgettable. But considering how long it took for Cole's debut to come out, and how long it takes for Jay Elec to even leak a single song, we aren't counting on seeing this one anytime soon.(Photos: Roger Kisby/PictureGroup; Vince Bucci/PictureGroup; Christopher Polk/Getty Images)

CRS (Child Rebel Soldier) - This trio of fashionable nerds, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco and Pharell, actually managed to record and release a few songs ("Don't Stop," "Us Placers," N.E.R.D.'s "Everybody Nose" remix) over the past few years, and the results were bar-none dope. However, the dream-team project seems to be stuck in limbo now, much to the dismay of skinny-jean wearers and skaters everywhere.(Photos: Kevin Mazur/WireImage/Getty Images; Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images)

Eminem and Shady 2.0 - Eminem's Shady Records came to prominence with acts including D12, Obie Trice and, of course, 50 Cent. When Slim took over the Cypher at last year's BET Hip Hop Awards, though he rolled with Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf, whom he dubbed Shady 2.0. (Photo: BET)

Shady 2.0 - A crew album from Shady Records, helmed by Eminem, Yelawolf and supergroup-within-a-supergroup Slaughtahouse (Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce da 5'9" and Joell Ortiz) would probably break the Internet. Just check their show-stopping Cypher performance at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. (Photo: BET)

P.O.C. (Pulled Over by the Cops) - We don't really know what to make of this unlikely supergroup, whose membership includes the Cool Kids, Bun B, Freddie Gibbs and possibly Chip The Ripper and others, but their only two releases, "Authority" and Gibbs' "Oil Money," speak for themselves. Album, please.(Photo: Defcon Records)

Ocean's 7 - This rando suited-up crew, consisting of Jermaine Dupri, Usher, Trey Songz, Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox, Nelly and Ty, contains enough hitmakers to do better than that underwhelming 2009 mixtape they did, 3000 And 9 S--t. Maybe an real album would bring out the real talent?(Photo: Global 14)

Dream Team - Diddy made some noise last year when he announced the formation of the Dream Team—Diddy himself, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous and Red Café, last we checked—but we haven't heard much about it since. At this point it's probably safe to say that we'll see a Tupac and Biggie duets album before we see a Dream Team one.(Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage)
