Known as the "Elmira Express," Ernie Davis was forecasted to be one of the best football players to ever enter the league after making quite the name for himself on the Syracuse University football team. He was the first Black man to win the Heisman trophy and was drafted to the Cleveland Browns under his idol Jim Brown. Unfortunately, Davis never played a single game due to lukemia. He died at the age of 23.
