BET Awards 2009

Music was in mourning over the sudden loss of Michael Jackson and the 2009 BET Awards made sure to pay homage while rocking all night. As that year’s host, actor/singer/comedian Jamie Foxx, made sure he did his part with a fun collaborative performance of “Blame It” with T-Pain. New Edition, who were inspired by the Jackson 5, gave it their all with “I Want You Back.”

The party took on an old school spin with performances by Guy, Bell Biv Devoe and Keith Sweat. Mary Mary gave the crowd some gospel with Queen Latifah during their performance of "God In Me." Beyoncé, who won two awards, put on a magical show with her rendition of “Ave Maria.”

Jay-Z gave his musical eulogy with “D.O.A.” and the O’Jay’s, who were also the Lifetime Achievement Award honorees, showed everyone why they are masters in the game with "For the Love of Money" and "Used to be My Girl." The Humanitarian Awards went to the very deserving Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean.

Also lucky that evening was Will Smith, who won Best Actor, Lil Wayne, Taraji P. Henson, LeBron James and Serena Williams. It was a night to be remembered.
