"You Got Me"

Jill Scott first made noise as the co-writer and original singer featured on The Roots' Grammy-winning breakthrough hit, "You Got Me." Though she was replaced on the official single by Erykah Badu due to reported record-label politics, The Roots kept her OG version as a bonus cut on the album Things Fall Apart, and she's often performed it with them live.
