What's the 411
Mary J. Blige's 1992 debut, What's the 411, was a benchmark moment. Not only did it introduce the world to one of today's now-iconic singers, it pioneered the juxtaposition of soul with hard-edged hip hop beats, paving the way for countless other singers, including Faith, Keyshia Cole, Beyoncé and TLC, to name a few. Led by the hit "Real Love," the album went on to sell over 3 million copies in the U.S. alone.
