Created in 2006 by celebrity DJ, entrepreneur and executive producer, Beverly Bond, BLACK GIRLS ROCK!™ is a multifaceted movement and award show dedicated to elevating the narratives of Black women and shining a light on the nexus of achievements of women of color whose contributions often go under the radar in mainstream media. BET to televise the acclaimed BLACK GIRLS ROCK! awards show to share its empowering message on a worldwide stage. Now in its 10th year, the multifaceted BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Awards reaches a global audience and is the recipient of two NAACP Image Awards and a Gracie Award. In addition to the award show, Beverly Bond also founded Black Girls Rock! Inc., the 501(c)3 nonprofit arm of the BLACK GIRLS ROCK! movement.
