The Edgemere section of Far Rockaway is home to many working class African-Americans whose relief from Hurricane Sandy is yet to come. While hoping for support from FEMA and The Red Cross, residents of Beach 42nd Street found a silver lining through their neighbors and the support of their local congregation. Don't Sleep!'s "Miracle on Beach 42nd Street" tells the story of a determined 95-year-old woman, a courageous father of four and the pastor who keeps spirits high as they get temporary relief from the church's extended family.
