Soul singer Kem and gospel artist Israel Houghton reflect on family.
Start your Sunday mornings with BET's Christian talk show, Lift Every Voice. This week, we hear from these voices:
ISRAEL HOUGHTON, WHO KEEPS FAMILY FIRST. How does a recording artist stay grounded? Israel Houghton knows that Grammy Awards, sold-out tours and DVDs aren’t more important than keeping his family on track.
Four-time Grammy Award–winner Israel Houghton is known for a musical style that fuses elements of gospel, contemporary Christian, jazz and rock. He has released a total of 10 albums, including his latest, Love God, Love People.
KEM REVISITS HIS DAYS OF ADDICTION. R&B soul singer Kem discusses the impact his struggles with drugs and alcohol had on his family, and reveals how he overcame them.
Kem is a singer, songwriter and producer. He self-released his first album, Kemistry, before it was re-released by Motown in 2003, fueled by the debut single, “Love Calls.” His latest LP, Intimacy: Album III, was released last August.
Tune in this Sunday at 10 AM/9C.
