Candice Boyd's hit song "Damn Good Time" was just released this year but is already making its rounds! Candice's vocals are accompanied by French Montana's rap on this song. Let's just say that "Damn Good Time" is a damn good song!
Candice Boyd is so damn good that she was signed to Ne-Yo and Epic Records at the same damn time! L.A. Reid signed Candice on the spot after hearing the singer-songwriter sing for the first time. Candice is definitely going to keep making waves in the music industry.
Before signing with Ne-Yo and Epic Records, Candice went on a world tour in 2013 with a legend! Which legend? Well he's the type to tell you he wants to spend his life with you. Get it? She went on tour with Eric Benet! Not only did she go on tour with him, he even personally asked her. Now that is a damn good thing!
Almost a decade ago, eight years to be exact, you could find Candice uploading videos of herself on YouTube. Her persistence in posting to the internet ultimately led her to meeting people, getting hit up in her DMs by record labels and finally signing with Ne-Yo.
One of the record labels that hit her up was Atlantic Records. Before the deal with Epic, Candice signed a publishing deal with Atlantic. This deal helped her score writing credits on Tamar Braxton's Calling All Lovers album.
In 2013, while Candice Boyd was going by Candice Kush, she dropped an EP entitled Live From the Smoker's Room.
Just last month, on October 11, Candice performed for BET Music's The Showcase. The concert was held at SOB's in New York and also featured artists such as Retro Tha Kid, Frank Vocals, DMK and Youth Soul Love.
Candice's career is on the rise and she is a star in the making! We're sure she will continue to be successful in her music and become a legend one day. Make sure to catch her performing at this year's Soul Train Awards! Tune in Sunday, November 27 at 8P/7C!
