Jody From Baby Boy
John Singleton's point in calling the movie Baby Boy was a reference to adult males who have unhealthy attachments to their mother's and have pretty much refused to enter conventional society because, they don't/can't grow up. Jody is a lost soul who eventually has experiences that put him on a path towards becoming the man he should be. Of course part of that involves letting go of his mother.
