What's the Deal with Nita's Post-Rehab Restaurant?

Toya's Facebook friends want to know: Can Jazze Belle's save Anita from her addiction?

Facebook Question: Deiondra Ratliff: When Nita gets out and begins working at her restaurant, do you think that will keep her off the streets and off drugs?

What's up Deiondra? As you know, Anita, the matriarch of the Johnson family, finally checked into a 30-day rehabilitation program for drug abuse at the beginning of the season of Toya: A Family Affair. Her addiction began years ago, when her then-husband Walter brought cocaine into their home to smoke with his buddies. Anita became curious about the drug and began using. While Walter was able to successfully wean himself off the drug, Anita just couldn't shake it. Her resulting addiction was partly to blame for the family's drifting apart, but she finally saw the light and got help.

That's all in the past now. Now that you're briefed on Anita's back-story, let's focus on the future. Without giving anything away from the season, you should know that Anita is doing wonderfully. It's important for someone who used drugs for years to replace that harmful act of using with a productive activity -- like a job they love, or some form of recreation. Anita's addiction never stopped her from being able to throw down in the kitchen. Because Toya is such a thoughtful daughter, she went around with Memphitz until she found the perfect restaurant to partner with, Jazze Belle's.

In the most recent episode, we saw Toya and the family brainstorm ideas on how to make the restaurant perfect for Anita's arrival. We're sure the love and support Anita is receiving from her family, and the catharsis that cooking will provide, will help her recovery from drug addiction. But you know what they say, with recovery it's always one day at a time.

You haven't seen the last of Anita yet Deiondra! Keep watching the entire season of Toya: A Family Affair, on #ToyaTuesdays, 10P/9C for Anita updates. We'll give you one hint: you'll be seeing a LOT of her very soon.
