We knew that James Brown. the Godfather of Soul, was a free spirit with lightning-fast dancing feet. What we didn't know was that once upon a time he was also a shotgun-wielding rebel. On December 15, 1988, Brown began serving a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence for aggravated assault and failing to stop for a police officer.
