    Robin Thede was the head writer for The Queen Latifah Show. This was Robin Thede's first time writing with another woman of color.

    She met Larry Wilmore when she was in an all-female sketch group for a number of years called Elite Delta Force 3. He always came out to support her shows.

    She once auditioned for SNL. She was the only minority in the room the day that she auditioned and it was prior to SNL's diverse cast.

    Robin Thede came from humble beginnings. Her father had three jobs and her mother was an aid. They grew up in a trailer park and she recalls sharing clothes with her sister to get by. 

  7. Sister, sister

    She started writing, performing and doing sketches when she was eight years old. At age 13, she got a hold of her parents’ 16-millimeter camera and was out shooting sketches with her sister.
