Basic Functions

Under the direction of the Master Control Supervisor this position will maintain the video and audio functions of Master Control and insure the integrity of the network origination of up to six channels 24x7 channels.  Responsibilities include operating the Harris Louth automation system, Profiles video servers, Masstech Archive, Sony VTRs, Chyron Duet, Symphony Switcher and multiple external devices.  The candidate must have the ability to manually switch to back-up systems, maintain discrepancy logs and troubleshoot technical issues in Master Control.

Candidate must have a strong background in Microsoft Operating Systems environment.  Also, the candidate should have a working knowledge of the Unix Operating Systems.

Responsibilities 

Perform all Playback and Monitoring functions for the origination of multiple 24x7 server based television channels.

Review, edit, monitor and confirm the on-going reliability of the automation play-list.

Confirm that all “on air” media is available to air from the “on air” servers.

Ingest “on air” material into the servers at the direction of the Master Control Supervisor

Maintain all appropriate “on air” logs and discrepancy reports.

Maintain a 99.99% “on air” reliability level.

Qualifications

2 plus years of experience as a master control operator in a multi-channel environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts or Radio/TV/Film preferred.

Must posses excellent organizational skills, good verbal and written communication skills and proficient in computer usage.

Able to work weekends, overnights and holidays.
