Hoda Kotb's Becomes a Mom at 52 By Adopting a Baby Girl
Today show host Hoda Kotb is People magazine's new cover star. The television personality, 52, revealed the emotional journey of adopting after being unable to conceive due to cancer complications.
Kotb had breast cancer a decade ago, and the resulting treatment rendered her unable to conceive. Her inability to get pregnant left her with the feeling of a "hole," according to Kotb. Her daughter, Haley Joy, was born on Valentine's Day and has been home with her for 10 days now.
“One of the things in my life I’ve always wanted was to be a mom. Sometimes in your life, things just don’t work out for whatever reason, so you say, ‘Well, I wasn’t meant to have that.’ But it was really hard to come to terms with it,” Kotb said.
This issue will available on Friday, but you can read the story here now.
