The internet went crazy this weekend over this graphic makeup tutorial showing how to cover up oral herpes. Valentina, who goes by @bilintinamakeup on Instagram, is the MUA responsible for the video that gives beauty enthusiasts who suffer from cold sores a step-by-step demonstration on how to mask their blemishes with the magic of makeup. The “cover-up” is actually pretty impressive! 

However, her efforts were met A LOT of criticism from folks who called this “catfish lips” and said her tactics were deceptive, unsanitary and were just plain grossed out by her cold sores. The gag is that they were fake and just another result of her killer MUA skills. Still, her comment section blew up with things like, “In 2017, we fake herpes for views!” Valentina took to IG after her video went viral to address the negative comments and stand by her artistry.
