When it comes to clever, easy and glam styles, you can’t really go wrong with the iconic half-up, half-down style. Not only can you wear it virtually anywhere — think from work to weddings — but it takes 10 minutes of less to achieve.

Plus, it seems to be popping up on every celeb imaginable, from Beyoncé to Rihanna and Gabrielle Union to Jennifer Lopez (we mean, it’s her go-to!)

Not sure how to achieve the style? We spoke to Naté Bova, senior stylist at Warren Tricomi Salon, who has worked with everyone from Rosario Dawson to Va$htie and even Zendaya herself, to learn how to get the look.

“First, you will need a Hot Tools 1 ¼-inch curling iron ($49.99) to achieve this look,” explains Naté. “I also like to spray the Warren Tricomi Hot Set Spray on each piece before curling.”

“Using one-inch sections, keep the iron open and wrap the hair around the iron, leaving the tips of the hair out. For your edges, I recommend Nubian Heritage Grow & Strengthen Edge Taming Taffy ($6.44). Next, take the front half of your hair — parting from ear to ear — and spread the root tamer around the root area.”

“Finally, take a hair tie and make a ponytail towards the top of the head. Wrap a one-inch section of your hair around the ponytail to cover the band. Last, use a bobby pin to fasten the hair you’ve wrapped.”

Thursday night @unistudios @HorrorNights what's up?
