Anthony Hamilton

Anthony Hamilton is an R&B singer from Charlotte, N.C., celebrated for his richly textured voice and throwback soul sound. Before gaining attention for his chorus on The Nappy Roots’ single “Po’ Folks,” Hamilton was a backup singer on D’Angelo’s Voodoo tour. He also penned songs for other artists, including Donell Jones and Sunshine Anderson. While his critically acclaimed 2003 album Comin’ From Where I’m From, earned three Grammy Award nominations, he finally snagged a Grammy for his 2008 collaboration with Al Green on “You’ve Got the Love I Need.”
