Djimon Hounsou

Actor Djimon Gaston Hounsou began his career in the entertainment industry as a model in Paris. Upon moving to the U.S., the Benin-born Honsou performed in music videos (many remember him for his appearance in Janet Jackson's "Love Will Never Do Without You") and several TV series, making his film debut in 1990 with Without You I’m Nothing. The two-time Oscar nominee went on to garner acclaim for his performances in numerous films, particularly Amistad, In America, Gladiator and Blood Diamond. He also provided the voice for Black Panther in the eponymous animated series and is scheduled to star in the upcoming comedy Baggage Claim, alongside Paula Patton and Taye Diggs. The former Calvin Klein model has a son with ex-model and fashion icon Kimora Lee Simmons.
