Donna Summer

Singer Donna Summer, often called The Queen of Disco, is a musical legend and the first artist to have three consecutive number-one double albums. Her songs, including "Bad Girls," "Hot Stuff," "Last Dance" and "On the Radio," helped define the disco sound and catapulted the Boston-born singer to fame. She had a mezzo-soprano range and was a five-time Grammy winner. In 2009, Summer performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway in honor of winner President Barack Obama. Summer died on May 17, 2012 following a battle with cancer.
