Fat Joe

Rapper/Actor Joseph Cartagena, aka Fat Joe, is a Bronx-born, Puerto Rican/Cuban rapper who began his career as part of the groundbreaking D.I.T.C. collective. His 1993 debut, Represent, boasted hardcore New York City street production from Diamond D, Lord Finesse and The Beatnuts. On his 1998 release Don Cartagena, Joe featured his Terror Squad crew, which included Triple Seis, Prospect, Armageddon, and now-deceased rapper Big Pun (and, later, Remy Ma). The crew split amidst a public dispute between Fat Joe and some members. Over the years, Joe has also been embroiled in ongoing rap beefs with 50 Cent and Jay-Z.
