Frank Mugisha

Activist A gay rights activist in Uganda, Mugisha came to global prominence after winning the 2011 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award for his work against a proposed Ugandan law that would punish gay people with prison or death. He is the executive director of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) and a worldwide advocate for LGBTI rights.
