Freeway

Rapper Leslie "Freeway" Pridgen is a Philadelphia-based rapper who cut into the scene with a shrill vocal tone and an aggressive rap style. He was introduced to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records by hometown rapper Beanie Siegel. His first album, Philadelphia Freeway, was released in 2003 and sold morethan 500,000 units. His follow-up, 2007's Free at Last, was created while he was in talks with 50 Cent to record under 50's G-Unit label. A practicing Muslim, Freeway took a break from rap to make a pilgrimage to Mecca. He is currently preparing his newest disc, Diamond in the Ruff, to be released in 2012.
