Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis

They broke into the industry as members of R&B group The Time and evolved into one of the most influential production teams the music business has ever seen. They are distinguished for their distinctive production style, especially with their use of the Roland TR-808 drum machine. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are especially known for their work with Janet Jackson, having produced and written many of her albums and hit singles. The two have also orchestrated hits for other major artists like Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, Yolanda Adams, Usher, Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men. With countless Grammys, number-one singles and award-winning albums produced, the iconic production duo was inducted into the Soul Music Hall of Fame at SoulMusic.com in December 2012.
