Katherine Jackson

Katherine Jackson is the mother and matriarch of the legendary Jackson family. Her relationship with Joe Jackson and role in her children's careers was documented in the autobiographical novel My Family, as well as ABC's miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. Her heavy involvement in the Jackson's lives and careers (from costume designing and management to song approvals) earned her "Mother of the Year" in a 1985 issue of Essence. In recent months, the 82-year-old has gained frequent media coverage for the custody battle surrounding her three grandchildren, Michael's children Paris, Blanket and Prince.
