Kid Rock

Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Rapper Rap-metal artist Kid Rock didn't have a traditional rise to fame. Although he was originally signed to Jive Records in the late 80s, he wouldn't release a hit album until 1998's Devil Without a Cause.  The album sold 11 million copies off the strength of the singles "Bawitdaba" and "Cowboy," long after he had been dropped from Jive's roster.  Originally inspired by the Beastie Boys' Licensed to Ill, Kid Rock's brand of rock and hip-hop led to a spot on a tour with Too Short and Ice Cube in the early 1990s.  Yet, he wouldn't become popular until the rise of similar acts like Korn, Limp Bizkit and Rage Against the Machine.
