Kriss Kross

Rap Group Rappers Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly and Chris "Daddy Mac" Smith were just your average Atlanta teens until meeting an 18-year-old Jermaine Dupri in a mall in 1991. After grooming them to become rappers, the future head of So So Def Records dubbed the duo Kriss Kross and produced their 1992 LP Totally Krossed Out. The four-times platinum LP, propelled by the double platinum single “Jump” not only turned the small-fry duo into pop superstars but fashion tastemakers. Their style of wearing their clothes backwards caught on with fans nationwide. On May 1, 2013, group member Chris Kelly passed away at the age of 34.
