Nothing was hotter in 2007 than MIMS’ single “This Is Why I’m Hot.”  Born Shawn Mims in New York City, his No. 1 song fed music fiends all summer, spawning various remix versions, including the dancehall-infused Junior Reid and Cham feature. That same year he released his debut album, Music is My Savior. In 2007, the hot MC was nominated for a Best New Artist BET award.
