Reminisce “Remy Ma” Smith is the female rapper from the Bronx who came to fame as a member of the Fat Joe-helmed crew, Terror Squad. Her verse on the Terror Squad’s “Lean Back,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 100 chart, propelled her into the national spotlight. In 2006, she released her solo album, There’s Something About Remy: Based on a True Story, and fell out with the Terror Squad leader Fat Joe. The following year, she was convicted of shooting her friend in the stomach after accusing her of stealing. She was sentenced to eight years in jail.
