Rick Rubin

Producer/Music Executive Rick Rubin is one of the original co-founders of Def Jam Records. Although he split with the label early in 1988 due to creative differences, Rubin would go on to have a successful career in the music industry.  In May 2007, Rubin was named co-head of Columbia Records.  That same year he won a Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical for his work with the Dixie Chicks, Michael Krantz, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, U2, Green Day and Johnny Cash. He'd win the same award again in 2009 for his production work for Metallica, Neil Diamond, Ours, Jakob Dylan and Weezer. In 2012, Rubin won the Grammy for Album of the Year for his role as producer of Adele's album 21.
