Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum is a former Republican senator from Pennsylvania known for his staunch social conservative stances, which include an opposition to gay marriage and abortion. In 1990, 32-year-old Santorum was elected to U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 18th district.  Four years later, he won the state's Senate seat which he held until 2006. In June of 2011, he announced his candidacy for the GOP presidential nomination, running on a social and fiscal conservative platform.
