Although she has cemented her legacy as a solo star, singer Chaka Khan first became famous as the voice of the band Rufus. A funk outfit that hailed from Chicago, the band gained fans — and Grammys — in the early and mid-1970s. It's hits, which are still much beloved today, include "Tell Me Something Good" (written by Stevie Wonder), "Sweet Thing" and "Once You Get Started."
