Nicknamed for the character on the popular Scooby Doo cartoon, Orville Richard Burrell aka Shaggy’s hit single “Oh Carolina” was recorded while he was on weekend leave from the Marines.  The single sold over 600,000 copies and earned him a multi-album deal with Virgin Records.  Shaggy released three additional albums and his fourth, 2000’s Hot Shot contained the hugely popular number one singles “It Wasn’t Me” and“Angel.” Shaggy also started a label called The Big Yard Music Group.
