Rapper Hailing from Compton,Calif., this half-Haitian, half-Vietnamese rap luminary entered the game with a star pedigree (he’s the cousin of Travis McCoy, the lead vocalist for Gym Class Heroes). Shortly after putting out his 2007 mixtape, Young on Probation, Tyga (born Michael Nguyen) gained the spotlight opening for Fall Out Boy and Gym Class Heroes on the Young Wild Things Tour. Tyga snatched national attention after signing to the Young Money Label and releasing the 2008 single “Coconut Juice” off his debut LP, No Introduction. Most recently, he was nominated for a 2011 Grammy for “Deuces,” his collaboration with Chris Brown and released his second album, Careless World: Rise of the Last King this past February.
