Warren G

Rapper Warren Griffin, aka Warren G, shot through the emerging Long Beach, California, rap scene with his 1994 hit single, “Regulate,” which featured hook man Nate Dogg. The accompanying album, Regulate…G Funk Era sold more than three million units and helped to push his funk-infused hip-hop into the mainstream. Before he went solo, he was a member of local rap crew, 213—named for their Long Beach area code—along with Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg. He was instrumental in connecting Snoop with his half-brother, super producer Dr. Dre.
