Bell Biv DeVoe

Bell Biv Devoe is made up of half the members of R&B boy band New Edition — members include Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe. After N.E. disbanded in the late '80s, Public Enemy producers Eric Sadler, Hank and Keith Shocklee and others helped BBD release their runaway hit album Poison in 1990. A fusion of hip hop, pop, R&B and soul, Poison reached No. 1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop chart, with both the title track and follow-up single, "Do Me,” reaching No. 3 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The groups also had other notable hits, including “B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)? and "When Will I See You Smile Again?" The group went on to release a second LP, Hootie Mack, in 1993 and a third in 2001. Though neither album was as successful as Poison, fans still flock to see them perform as part of New Edition reunion tours.
