Black Eyed Peas

From street dancing in L.A. to the Superbowl Halftime Show, The Black Eyed Peas evolved from an alternative rap troupe to the become the most commercially successful hip hop group in history. They have won six Grammy Awards and sold over 27 million albums worldwide, and another 20 million singles. Formed in 1995 by three street-dance loving high school friends—Will.I.Am (Williams Adams Jr.), Apl.de.Ap (Allan Lindo) and Taboo (Jamie Gomez)—the Black Eyed Peas went to another level of success after the addition of female singer Fergie on their third LP, 2003’s Elephunk, which catapulted them into the pop stratosphere with the single “Where Is The Love,” which topped the charts in 10 different countries. In 2009, they became one of the few acts in history to hold the #1 and #2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with “I’ve Got A Feeling” and “Boom Boom Pow.” B.E.P. frontman Will.I.Am moonlights as a sought-after producer and songwriter, while Fergie has a successful solo career of her own, thanks to her triple platinum, Will.I.Am-produced LP, 2007’s The Dutchess.
