John Legend

With a full, rotund voice reminiscent of jazz singer Bobby Short, this nine-time Grammy winner is renowned as one of R&B’s most creative forces. Born John Stephens in Springfield, Ohio, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he led a vocal group. Hired by Lauryn Hill to play piano on her hit “Everything is Everything,” Legend also worked behind the scenes with Kanye West and Jay-Z before coming into his own as a solo artist. He has sold over 5 million albums to date, and most recently released his fourth LP, Love in the Future, which spawned the number one smash single "All of Me." Legend’s 2014 song “Glory,” with rapper Common, was included in the Selma soundtrack and won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for Best Original Song.
