Black Thought

A Philadelphia native, Black Thought (born Tariq Trotter) is the lead rapper and co-founder of The Roots. Along with his iconic hip hop group, the veteran MC made his debut with 1993's Organix. Known for his social and political depth as well as his eclectic style, he's worked with a wide range of artists from Common to Linkin Park. The Grammy-winning lyricist has also tried his hand in acting, appearing in several popular films, including Brown Suger and Spike Lee's Bamboozled.
