The Temptations

With a polished image, flawless harmonies and well-choreographed dance routines, the Temptations were shining ambassadors of the Motown movement of the '60s.  Originally comprised of members from two Detroit vocal groups-The Distants and The Primes-the group included Otis Williams, Elbridge "Al" Bryant, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams.  David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards would later become lead singers.  The Temptations steamrolled the charts with R&B pop tunes, such as "My Girl" and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and nimbly adapted their sound throughout the 1960s and early '70s.
