Monica Seemingly Collapses During Houston Concert Performance

The singer was reportedly carried out by a member of her team.

R&B songstress Monica reportedly fainted during a concert performance at the NRG Arena in Houston last week.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the “Don’t Take It Personal” singer took the stage as the headliner along with Joe and K Michelle on Dec. 30 (Saturday). She apparently passed out on the stairs by the stage and was carried away by members of the stage crew.

The alleged incident is said to have occurred near the end of her performance at 11:05 p.m.

Those in attendance took to social media to share their recollections of what happened at the concert.

Monica Believes She’s ‘The Most Forgotten’ Artist In The Music Industry

“The Houston streets are talking! They’re saying Monica left in an ambulance after passing out by the stairs,” one user wrote with a clip of Monica performing. “They say she came out late; 10:35 and people were walking out by 11:05. Concertgoers do say something seemed off.”

In the past, the 43-year-old has battled several health issues, including a heart condition she was diagnosed with at 18 years old called mitral valve prolapse, where the valve's flaps don’t always close properly between each heartbeat, according to the Mayo Clinic.

During an interview, she shared when she discovered that something was seriously wrong with her health during a performance.

"Everything in front of me basically began to go from color to black-and-white, fading in and out," Monica explained. "I walked to the side of the stage to ask for help and collapsed into one of our staff people's arms."

Additionally, she suffers from high blood pressure and has had several surgeries because of endometriosis.

Monica is set to tour on several more dates through February. We wish her a very speedy recovery.
