Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan Say Relationship Surprised Family

The couple is sharing their story on their new podcast 'Separation Anxiety with Larsa and Marcus.'

Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan are opening up about the unusual circumstances around the start of their relationship in a new podcast.

During the first episode of Separation Anxiety with Larsa and Marcus, the couple dove right into what many fans want to know—their origin story.

Per PEOPLE, they said they locked eyes across a crowded room. They said that eventually, Marcus traveled to Miami for a two-day trip that turned into 12. During that trip, Larsa began questioning whether the relationship was worth the "smoke" she would get because of her past marriage.

"I figured this was off limits. It was not something I wanted to go to war for,” Larsa said. “I feel like you have to pick and choose your battles, and I wasn’t sure…”

The Real Housewives of Miami star was married to NBA legend Scottie Pippen for 20 years. He was a former teammate of Marcus Jordan's famous father—Michael.

The couple confirmed that they were in a relationship in January.

During the podcast episode, Marcus shared honestly that his family had reservations about him dating Scottie’s ex-wife, too: “I don’t think there was ever any hurdles, I just think there was some shock value to the fact that we were dating. Caught maybe some people on my side of the family off guard a little bit.”

Larsa chimed in, “It caught me off guard! I get it. I understand.”

She even admitted that she saved Marcus' name in her phone under an alias: Marc Jacobs, adding, “I didn’t want anyone to know when you’d call me."

Eventually, Marcus added, that their families wanted to see them happy. “I think once people really got to understand and see us together, it made everything a little more comfortable. My parents want to see me happy. Your family wants to see you happy. That’s all you could ever ask for.”
