Talib Kweli Lashes Out After Being Accused Of Sexual Harassment By Singer Signed To His Label

She claims he killed her career when she refused his advances.

Talib Kweli is being accused of perpetuating unwanted advances by Philadelphia singer-songwriter Res. She’s claiming that Kweli, who is the president and founder of Javotti Records, is holding up her music after she denied him.

  • Res signed to the Brooklyn emcee’s imprint in 2013. On June 1, she took to Twitter and revealed her side of the story.

  • Res also claims that she’s not the only female artist Kweli has tried to sleep with. Similarly, she says that when they denied his passes, he denied them an opportunity in the music industry.

  • Then Kweli decided to get involved and when he claimed that she was no longer on the bankroll, Res clapped back with saying that bankroll ain’t that big.

  • Then she blocked him...

  • Many fans have since either asked Talib about the accusations or showed their dismay about what has been claimed. He's responded by posting a screenshot of what looks like a court dismissal of sexual assault claims that have been leveled at him by someone. It doesn't, however, seem to erradicate him of all potential guilt.

  • We'll keep you updated on this story as more details are made available.
