In a press release from the White House, the Trump Administration took it upon themselves to reclaim Black History Month as 'African-American History Month'
According to TMZ, a meeting between Trump and African-American leaders led the president to believe the term "Black" is outdated, and "African-American" is more appropriate.
Since 1976, every U.S. president has proclaimed the month of February to be Black History Month. Although the proclamation is not new, his decision to use the term "African-American History Month" has caught many off guard.
