NASA Just Announced Landmark Discovery of Earth-Like Planets and People Are Already Asking for the First Flight Out

Here are the mind-blowing details.

NASA brought the internet to a standstill Wednesday, announcing its discovery of at least seven Earth-size planets orbiting a single star. At least three of these planets are in a habitable zone.

“This discovery could be a significant piece in the puzzle of finding habitable environments, places that are conducive to life,” Thomas Zurbuchen, the associate administrator of NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington, said, as reported by the agency's website. “Answering the question ‘are we alone’ is a top science priority and finding so many planets like these for the first time in the habitable zone is a remarkable step forward toward that goal.”

The announcement had social media instantly lit, with people doing everything from vowing to move to one of these planets to escape Donald Trump's presidency to connecting the discovered exoplanet system, Trappist-1, to some of our favorite trap rappers and asking if aliens are next.

Here is NASA's announcement followed by the ways many people reacted to the mind-blowing news.
