Viewers of #culture'sbiggestnight were especially mesmerized with her radiant beauty when she stepped onto the red carpet before accepting her "Lifetime Achievement Award."
Even #BlackTwitter couldn’t stop chatting about her flawless glam. See what they had to say below!
Eager to get the tea on how we can look (nearly) as good as the multi-talented star, we sought out insider information from her trusted makeup artist, Ernesto Casillas.
“For the red carpet look, Queen Latifah served Hip Hop Royalty with a textured ponytail so I decided the makeup needed to be clean and pretty to balance the look out,” Ernesto explains about the inspiration for the look of the night.
Ernesto shared via Instagram: “I decided to go with a clean, streamlined look with a nude pink lip.” In our opinion, it complemented her natural beauty all too well!
The 2x Emmy award winning MUA let us in on how he prepped the hip hop legend’s skin ahead of applying makeup for the momentous evening. “Skin prep is super important, especially since we kept the look super clean.”
Below, check out the step-by-step process Casillas used to keep the Queen’s skin glowing for her big moment. And yes, you can do it too!
Prepping The Skin
To start, Casillas toned Queen Latifah's skin using the Youth To The People Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner ($38).
He then followed up with the Youth To The People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream ($58).
Adding Hydration And Glow
Next, Casillas dotted some Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil ($44) on the high points of the actress' face.
The Final Touch
As a finishing step, Casillas misted her face with the Youth To The People Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist ($42), before moving into makeup.
